Before participating in any behind-the-wheel instruction
at EXCEL, students must have a Driver Education Learner
Permit from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV).
To obtain your
Learner Permit at the BMV, you must:
Be at least
15 years of age and have a social security card.
Show proof of
enrollment at EXCEL by presenting your Certificate of
Enrollment (CDE). We will send you this once your enrollment
is confirmed. You will not be issued a Permit more than
21 days before your classroom instruction begins.
Provide proof
of identify by showing a photo ID or your high school
yearbook with your photo and a document with your signature.
Show the original
or certified copy of your birth certificate.
Pass a standard
vision screening test.
Have an adult
sign a financial responsibility agreement.
