The EXCEL Advantage

Since 1999, EXCEL Driving Instruction, Inc. has been offering first- rate training to develop life-long habits of safe driving to perspective drivers in Valparaiso, Chesterton, Michigan City, and La Porte, Indiana. Our instructors are accredited teachers who are certified in driver's education and fully licensed by the State of Indiana's Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) and the Department of Education. We limit our class size to ensure each student receives individual attention in an atmosphere of friendly learning.

Knowing that families are busy with academics, sports and other commitments, we offer convenient, year-round class times and drive times.

The Waiver Test Option

Students may take their state-mandated drive test with us rather than at the BMV. We offer this test seven days a week at a time that is convenient for you. The cost to take the test with EXCEL is $35. There is no charge to take the test at the BMV, but it can only be taken during the Bureau's normal business hours, and there is often a waiting list.

To be eligible to take the drive test with EXCEL, students must have passed EXCEL's online classroom and five hours of behind- the-wheel training.
